Man, Every Time I See His Smiling Mug He Reminds Me of an Older Version of Malcolm in the Middle

Who do I think is going to win the Heisman this year?  I think it's going to be Colt McCoy... Colt's name has been thrown around the Heisman rumors for a couple of years now, which is more then anyone else can say who's a finalist.  But, in Colt's defense he has thrown for about 3,500 yards and is the second leading rusher on the Texas team.  But, I think that name recognition will win it for him... And the fact that his Longhorn team has gone undefeated.  Mark Ingram has been essential to the Crimson Tide this year and they are also undefeated.  That big Defensive Tackle out of Nebraska has one stellar case with 12 sacks on the season, but lets be honest he plays defense.  Now that running back out of Stanford Toby Gerhart has got some serious wheels, and he's Caucasian-American!  Toby Gerhart has rushed for more yards then Mark Ingram (1542 yds and 15 TD's) vs Gerharts (1,736 and 26 TD's) but I don't think that anyone will argue when I say that Bama has played a tougher Defenses this year!  But, at the end of the day I do think it's going to be that Texas kid.

I am going to be extremely disappointed if I don't get to read your cheat sheet Quinn

So ESPN just listed the Bowls for this year and as always me and the boys will be playing College Bowl Pick'em and here is my list. And, keep in mind that I am doing the same thing I did last year and just pick who I want to win instead of picking for the most part who I think will win.

USC over Boston College in the Emerald Bowl (I don't really care so I think the Trojans will win) Dec. 26th

Penn State over LSU the Capital One Bowl (I like Joe Pa' way the heck better then Less Miles) Jan 1

Miami over Wisconsin in the Champs Sports Bowl (I really don't care both conferences need a bowl win) Dec 29

Ok State over Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl (I like Ole Miss and Houston Nutt but I got to be true to the Cowboy's) Jan 2

Pittsburg over North Carolina in the Meineke Bowl (Another Bowl I don't care about but I think Pitt will win) Dec 26

Oklahoma over Stanford in the Sun Bowl(Do I really need to explain?) Dec. 31

South Carolina over UConn in the PapaJohns.com Bowl (I like Steve Surrier) Jan 2

Tennessee over V.T. in the Chick-fl-A Bowl (I like Lane Kiffin and I think the Vols have the better team) Dec 31

Nebraska over Arizona in the Holiday Bowl (I like Mike Stoops and I wish him all the success in the world but I will always root for the BIG 12 over the Pac-10 any day of the week) Dec. 30

Northwestern over Auburn in the Outback Bowl (For some reason I think that Northwestern is like my favorite team in the Big-10, I think Auburn has the better chance of winning so I think I'll only wager very little points on this game) Jan 1

Iowa State over Minnesota in the Insight Bowl (I think both programs are in need of some help but once again lets go Big 12) No date announced yet of when

Arkansas over East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl ( I live like just a little over half an hour from Fayetteville and my Stake Center is just with in a 5 to 10 min. drive to Hog Heaven...So, yeah I am pulling for a Razorback win)Jan. 2

Texas A&M over Georgia in the Independence Bowl (Once again this is a game that I am going to wager very little amount of points on.  Although, next year I think that A&M will be a force to be reckoned with, but right now I would say its pretty evenly matched up game) Dec. 28

Air Force over Houston in the Armed Forces Bowl (If I was to unite myself to the armed forces it would hands down be the Air Force so there for I will cheer for them) Didn't say when?

Rutgers over UCF in the St. Petersburg Bowl (I don't know why this is just what the spirit indicated to me)

Clemson over Kentucky in the Music City Bowl (I just think that Clemson has the better team) Dec. 27

Southern Miss over Middle Tennessee in the New Orleans Bowl (The coin landed on tails) didn't say when?

Troy over Central Michigan in the GMAC Bowl (When I was a kid I was on the truck with my dad and I think it was the first time I had saw a real college football stadium and I met a couple of players in the town, so ever since I have been a closet fan of Troy) Jan 6

Either Army or UCLA over Temple in the Eagle Bank Bowl (Years of playing College Bowl Pick'em has taught me that you always go against Temple)

Idaho over Bowling Green in the Humanitarian Bowl (That darn coin keeps landing on Tails) Dec. 30

BYU over Oregon State in the Las Vegas Bowl (I am a Mormon so yeah...)Dec 22

THE PRESTIGIOUS BCS BOWLS!!!!!!!!!

TCU over Boise State (TCU was just one Texas point away from a possible National Championship, so Boise fan's should feel great about the matchup. [Because they are playing one of the best teams in the nation] Before it was a win win for Boise State because if they lost then who cares they were the underdog anyways, but if they win then it give more strength to their argument that they can role with anyone.  They still can boast with a TCU win but they would be unable to play the we were the underdog card if they lose. I think this is a great match up and I really don't think that Boise State Fan's should feel gypped about this match up)Jan 4

Cincinnati over Florida in the Sugar Bowl (I just like seeing Tim Tebow losing)Jan. 1

Ohio State over Oregon (I think both are good teams but I think the Buckeyes have the edge over the Ducks)Jan 1

Iowa over Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl (I really think that the Hawkeyes are legit this year)Jan 5

NATIONAL TITLE

Texas over Alabama (refer to my last blog that I posted titled Its the End of the Season as We Know It)Jan 7

It's the end of the season as we know it and I feel fine

Alabama did it!  And, they did it handily.  Holly Cow! 13 to 32 that is mad crazy!  That's what happens when Florida plays a crappy schedule, the second they play a real contender they fold up like a tin chair after an LDS potluck.  Seriously, the only ranked win this year came from LSU and they only won by 10.  Alabama on the other hand has had the most impressive schedule in the NCAA by beating 5 top ranked teams.

We'll now I am perplexed about who I want to win the National Championship?  If Bama wins then they will have 8 National Championship wins.  And, that will put them one above Oklahoma who they are currently tied with for most National Titles since WWI.  But, if Texas wins then that would put us in a three way tie at 7.  And, Wayne Bass doesn't want Oklahoma to share anything with Texas... It's bad enough that Oklahoma has to share with Alabama.

Anyways, I am glad that Tim Tebow isn't going to the National Championship game.  I was talking to Brent Cook earlier today and he made some great points.  1 Tim has only won one National Championship (In 2006 Chris Leak was the starting QB) 2. He only won the Heisman once which therefore means that Tim was just a great football player, instead of being crowned the greatest.

So, it looks like Boise State fans will be getting their wish in obtaining a BCS Bid and they will face off with Iowa at the Fiesta Bowl

Rose of course we all know is Ohio State and The Mighty Ducks

Orange is Florida and Cincinnati (GO BEARCATS!!)

Sugar Bowl we got TCU and G.T.

Stay tuned next week for the only game being played the Army Navy game.  I really think that the game has lost its luster outside of the military realms.  But, seeing how its the only one played next week it would cool for traditions sake to watch.

Bob Stoops to South Bend?

So, I have all but dismissed the notion that Bob Stoops would be leaving the Sooner State for Notre Dame, I have dismissed this because he said he would be back next year... Bob has always been very straight forward with the media in the past.  I think ever since Nick Saben I have hated it when coaches say they aren't leaving and then next week they leave.  It irritated me when Rich Rodrigzous did that same thing when he left West Virginia for Michigan, or Less Miles when he said that he wasn't leaving OSU for LSU and then he did.  So, how am I going to feel if Bob Stoops leaves after he straight out said that he is not leaving Oklahoma for Notre Dame?

A- I feel that it would serve those band wagon fans right who have been ripping on my boy Bob.  Have they forgotten what life in Oklahoma was like before he arrived?

B- I would feel a bit betrayed seeing how he said that he would stay and then left.  But, I would justify anything that guy does...

So, why am I thinking that this might be a possibility?  Well, I get e-mails called The Bleacher Report which keeps me updated on College Football and under the rumor section this guy writes an article stating that Bob Stoops has already signed a contract with ND and on Friday he will make the announcement.

The only problem is that anyone can write an article on The Bleacher Report (it is no where near peered reviewed)... I have written a freakin' article that went out via e-mail to subscribers.  Here are the Pro's and Con's from Bob Stoops perspective.

Pro's

He's Catholic
He's great at bringing stud programs back to being National Power Houses
He grew up in Iowa and Indiana is closer then Oklahoma is
Under appreciated by a portion of Oklahoma sports writers and fair weather fans

Con's

His kids are at that age where moving is odd
His wife is a heavy hitter in the Mary Kay there in Oklahoma
He is the second highest paid coach in NCAA (before bonuses)
ND expects to win just as much as Oklahoma
ND has fired the last 3 head coaches
It's not Oklahoma!

So, in closing I have no idea who this guy is who wrote this article that I read, but he say's that his brother is somebody important at Notre Dame, and that is where he got his information.  I still don't think that he is a very creditable source but non the less he claims that Bob Stoops will make his announcement that he's leaving on Friday or maybe Monday.

PS. Keep in mind that no where else has this information about The Bob Move leaked out.  Just on Bleacher Report which as previously stated its like the Wikipedia of college football (anyone can be an expert!)  I can write just about anything football related and it will go through.

Your A Good Man Charlie Weisathon

"He he I wash my back with a rag on a stick" - Charlie Weis.  I am sure he's a good guy... We could at least talk about football if we were stuck together in a cross country road trip.  I remember once I had a dream I was ridding to go to thanksgiving and this girl asked if I had ever heard of John Madden and my response was yeah he's the biggest idiot in football.  I then went on to complain about how annoyed I would get with his commentary during the football game.  Then I spouted off that he wins one Superbowl with the Raiders then and he is deemed a Football God.  The girl in my dream then announced that he is her uncle and will be there for thanksgiving, and I flipped out.  "Holy cow I get to meet John Madden?"  She then said I thought you said he was an idiot and you hate him?  I then told her yeah but he's still John Freakin' Madden!  And, I was super excited to meet him!

So anyways, now that Charlie Weis is fired, I feel well that perhaps we had been too hard on the ole boy.  Na, I am glad that he's out of there.  An article I recently read stated that he has had some NFL Offensive Coordinator positions offered to him.  Plus, the boosters have raised enough money for his 20 Million buyout on his contract, so trust me when I say that he's doing all right.

So, the big question is who will take his place at South Bend, the same place where the last 3 head coaches have been fired.  Well, the two main candidates Bob Stoops and Urban Myers have already announced that they will not be leaving their current school.  And why would they?  They both make a boat load of money and are at a great program.  I know that Bob Stoops is currently the second highest paid NCAA coach and I can't speak for Urban but I have no doubts that he's up there as far as Head Coach cash goes.  Anyways, Notre Dame might be fishing out of their league but they also have made offers to some fish that might actually bite such as Cincinnati's head coach, TCU's head coach, and a couple of others who I can't remember right now.  Anyways, I really have no idea why teams make these decisions right before bowl time.

Boise and TCU

So, I was texting with Mr. Thome about Boise State getting one step closer to a BCS Bid with Oklahoma State losing to Oklahoma.  But, you need to keep in mind that if Nebraska can upset Texas in the Big 12 championship then that means that both Nebraska and Texas will go to a BCS Bowl, but that's not all that needs to happen because.

Both Alabama and Florida will go.

In the Big 10 we'll have Ohio State and Iowa going.

In the ACC Georgia Tech will go and Clemson might go if the Tigers win the ACC championship game.

In the Big East we have Cincinnati going and with the lost of Pittsburgh to West Virginia thus making them both 4 and 2 in conference play which pretty much means that only one representative will be invited to a BCS Bowl.

In the Pacific 10 we currently have the Mighty Ducks leading the flock.  But, if the Beavers of Oregon State win tonight then that means that both teams of Oregon have two losses in conference play.  And, if the conference champ has the same conference record then in theory both teams should play for the Big Bowl.

So, if each BCS Conference sends two representatives then that means that there would be twelve teams going to the 5 major bowls.  Since that can't happen... Here's my projections for the BCS Bowls this year.

Fiesta Bowl: Iowa vs. Clemson (if they win the ACC Championship) then Nebraska (if they win the Big 12) then Boise State (if both of the afore to mentioned teams lose their conference championship game

Sugar Bowl: Florida vs. Cincinnati

Orange Bowl: Georgia Tech vs. TCU

Rose Bowl Ohio State vs. Oregon

National Championship: Texas vs. Alabama

It's funny that in a season which has been well boring yet it still has produced some controversy.  The point of this blog is that its a headache to decide who who is more deserving of a BCS Bowl.  I know that I come from a part of the world which greatly benefits from the current system, but there are still some kinks which need to be worked out.  I know that not everyone would be able to participate in a play off, and some teams will feel they were cheated a shot at the national title, but there would be less whining.

I understand the arguments against a play off is that it
1)makes the season too long
2)makes the regular season less intense
3)creates less money
and can anyone else think of any other reason why a play off wouldn't work

I Wanna Talk About Tim

So, with the Mighty Tim Tebow and his weak sauces Florida schedule this year it looks like he could be playing for another National Title... Although, its not Florida's fault that the entire NCAA has been boring this year and no team has really knocked my socks off yet... But, that is not what I want to talk about.  I want to talk about Tim Tebow in the Pro's.  How do you think he'll do?  I am thinking not that hot... Let's talk about a couple other College Running Quarterbacks who were destined for NFL Greatness.... These names come to mind: Tommy Frazier (Neb), Scott Frost(Neb), Vince Young(UT), Michael Vick(VT), and coming soon to the list Tim Tebow (Florida).  All of them were expected to be phenomenal once they got to the Pro's...

Are you kidding me?

HOLY MUTHER OF FLYING TURDS!!!  Are you kidding me?  Just last week Chip Kelly say's he's not going to let Legarret Blount back because he doesn't want to mess up the chemistry of his newly found team.  The Ducks lose one game to Stanford and then the attitude changes to hey you know what everyone deserves a second chance.  PISS ANT!  The entire time this is happening  The NC double A holes are staying firm in their choice to make an example of Oklahoma State's Dez Bryant.   I mean seriously its not like Dez punched a wise guy who mouthed off and then try and fight off his entire team and coaching staff and then go after some antagonizing fans.  Anyways, long story short I AM PISSED!

I take back anything nice I might have ever said about Landry Jones

MAN I HATE THAT GUY HE IS NOT... Wait a minute... Breath... Relax Wayne... Count Out Loud 3,2,1...1,2,3 What the heck is bothering me?  Landry Jones that's what's freakin' bothering me!  "the leading freshman in TD's" had thrown 0 TD's but he did engineer 3 interceptions and only connected on half of his throws.  Ahhhh! I am so frustrated!  So, to distract me from the OU game I'll talk a little about what has happened today the 7th of November...

First on the list is Iowa... Wow!  I was really looking forward to them having a strong case for not going to the National Championship and showing the BCS that changes need to be made, but now thanks to Northwestern that won't happen.  Which is Ok because for some reason I have always liked Northwestern for some reason so I am happy for their win today...

Oregon... Holy cow I didn't see that happening.  Stanford beat USC back in 07 to keep them out of the National Championship by winning 23 to 24 and then nothing real eventful happened last year with but this year Holy Cow 42 to 51 so I believe that the University of Arizona is now leading the Pac-10 until the Ducks go to play the Wildcats of Arizona.  So, the Ducks can still win the Pac-10 if they beat Az. and Boise State will still have a legitimate argument for going to a BCS Bowl along with TCU.

Michigan and Noter Dame lost also so that's good :)

Cincinnati barley pulled out a win over 4 and 5 Connecticut so umm... yeah... well anyways moving on...

Texas and Florida had some impressive wins over some really good teams...  And, anyways I am still distracted by the OU loss...

Mr. Jones and Me

Just let the record show that Wayne Bass has been very unimpressed with Mr. Landry Jones this season.  Do I hold this Freshman responsible for Oklahoma's three losses?  Sort of... I mean no one thought that Sam Bradford would have gotten injured that first game and that he would have to step up and take the rains.  I have seen this immature quarterback make some dumb passes for example in the remaining seconds of the Texas game he throws the ball into double coverage thinking that with his arm strength he can throw it through the Texas defender and to his receiver.  Landry was wrong... The ball was intercepted and Freakin' Texas won.  So, perhaps I have been too tough on the ole boy.  I thought of this new line of thinking when I read an article about how Landry Jones is the leading Freshman passer in the nation.

Player                        School         #of TD's
Landry Jones           Oklahoma          17

Spencer Keith          Kent State           11

Dave Shinskie         Boston College    11

Kyle Parker             Clemson               10

B.J. Daniels             South Florida       10

Matt Barkley           USC                         9

Andrew Luck           Stanford                 9

Tate Forcier             Michigan                9

Zac Dysert                Miami (Ohio)        8

Tom Savage              Rutgers                  8

I mean wow!  Sam Bradford threw for like 36 when he was a Freshman.  I am not trying to compare the two because lets be honest they are not the same quarterback.  Right now Landry is averaging about two touchdowns a game.  With four games left theoretically he should throw another 8 touchdowns for a grand total of 25 which isn't that bad for a newbie.  So, I guess what I am trying to say is that if there isn't anyone else then Landry Jones is all right for now.  There is this kid from Moore, Oklahoma who goes by the name of Kendal Thompson his dad played quarterback at OU and anyways he's going to graduate early so that he can make it to spring football and compete with Mr. Jones for the starting job.  Who knows what's going to happen next year?

Holy Flying Ducks Batman

Who'd of thunk that the same Ducks of Eugene Oregon who in their season opener lost to Boise State of the WAC would be currently leading the Pac-10 and spanking USC for challenging there Pac-10 dominance!  This is not the same team that I watched on the smurf turf September 3rd.  I mean the Ducks I watched last night were making good exchanges from the center to the quarterback,  they were keeping the ball off of the ground and more importantly out of the other teams hands, and no one punched anyone.  I don't know what Chip Kelly did to those guys to make such a dramatic turn around, but what ever it was keep on doing it.  The USC Oregon game was fun and exciting until the 3rd quarter when the Ducks put on 17 points as opposed to USC 3 and then another 6 points in the fourth and USC remained unable to score closing out the game at 47-20.  WOW!  So, the USC win bumps up Oregon from the 10th spot to number eight right behind Boise then TCU, Cincinnati, Iowa, Alabama, Texas, and Florida.  Which leads me to my next point.

Texas re-claims the number two spot behind Florida.  Florida who is the defending National Champs have been in the number one spot all season long.  Earlier Alabama jumped ahead of Texas due to the strength of schedule and with Texas giving a butt whooping to Oklahoma State last night pushed them above Alabama but I think that it is easily arguable that if were basing BCS rankings off of the strength of schedule and then Florida only has one ranked win this season which Texas has two and Alabama has three.  Of the other 6 ranked teams that are undefeated such as Iowa, Cincinnati, TCU, and Boise State also have only one ranked wins under their belt as well.  And, that's why Texas and Alabama are ranked above them.  So, why isn't Florida ranked 3rd right now if we base this off of the strength of schedule?  How much weight does last years bowl game carry in this years rankings?  Remember that Alabama lost handily to Utah in their bowl last year.  On 10/17 Arkansas who's ranked like 50 or so got screwd out of a win in Gainesville Florida with the Gators winning 23-20. (The officials of that game were suspended by the way)  That same week Texas beat 20th ranked Oklahoma 16-13 and Alabama beat 22nd ranked South Carolina 20-6.  Florida retained their number one ranking.

Do you remember a couple years ago when Ohio State beat Michigan in regular season by a field goal and at the end of the season only those of Big-10 Country wanted to see a rematch in the National Championship Game?  Anyways, they were ranked number one and two in the nation and because they didn't have a conference championship game the good people of the Big-10 felt cheated, but the joke was on them because both teams lost their bowl games.  Ha Ha Ha... Anyways, if they played a conference championship game then they could have gotten their re-match but they left it up to the system to determine who was going to be the Conference Champ.  Luckily, in the SEC they play for the Conference Championship.  The Alabama Florida game is going to be the biggest game since the Oregon USC game, and in a sort of way this Conference game is acting like a playoff game, which the winner moves on to the National Championship.  Honestly, do you really think that a playoff won't generate as much excitement as bowl games do?

The BCS is as Simple as A Stop Light. The Computer Knows What's Best

With Tony Pike out... who cares the Bearcats are just as good with their back up!  In Cincinnati the Bearcats are reeking havoc in the Big East!  Honestly, their only real test this year was when they beat the 21st ranked at that time South Florida.  But, keep in mind that the South Florida Bulls beat Florida State of the ACC who beat BYU who beat The University of Oklahoma who lost by only three points to the third ranked Texas.  So, in a round about BCS way the Bearcats are totally legit.  If these guys win out as well as Texas and Iowa then we'll have some major argumentation over who is going to play the SEC Champ for the National Title.  If Texas goes undefeated in the Big 12 then only ranked teams that they beat were at the time 20th OU and this week the 14th Oklahoma State.  If Iowa wins out then there only ranked wins would be at that time the 5th ranked Penn State and in the upcoming weeks 17th ranked Ohio State.  As previously mentioned the Bearcats have already beat one ranked team they also have the current 21st ranked West Virginia and the 15th ranked Pittsburgh coming up on their schedule.  So, as of right now if nothing changes in the BCS (yeah right) then the Bearcats of Cincinnati will have defeated more ranked teams then Texas and Iowa.  But, Penn State was ranked in the top 5 and lost by 11 points.  To be honest with you this is ridiculous to sit here and speculate over who is more deserving to play Bama or the Gators in the National Championship game.  And who's to say that they deserve to be crowned an automatic National Title Bid?  The only ranked wins that Florida has was over then the 4th ranked LSU and that was only by ten points.  If nothing changes the only other ranked opponent is South Carolina at 22.  Alabama on the other hand will have 4 top 25 ranked wins.  Good for them : ) BCS speaking does that mean that technically that Alabama is the best team in the NCAA? No, thank goodness for a SEC championship game to weed out who will be going on to the National Championship Game.  According to this BCS theory we really don't need a championship game... Right?  We know who will win because of the strength of the schedule and nevermind the fact that teams get better as the season goes on.  And that sports fan's is reason one thousand three hundred fifty seven of why we need a play off system.

PS. If your wondering why I didn't throw in Boise State or TCU in the mix with the other undefeated teams the answer is simple they're really not apart of the NCAA

Best of Luck Bradford

Well, Sam Bradford is going to get the season ending sugary necessary to get him ready for the 2010 NFL Draft.  Sam was the projected number one over all pick last year, and this year we got Colt McCoy, Jimmy Clausen, Tim Tebow, and I am not sure but I think that tall fellow out of Cincinnati Tony Pike is a Sr. and he's a stud as well.  So, who's worried about spending a lot of monies on a stud QB who has basically had to set out his redshirt Junior year.  I am sure that Slinging Sammy will be just fine in the NFL.  He probably wont be the number one overall pick or even the first quarterback but he's still the man and will probably still be a first rounder.  We'll miss you Sam.  Sam Bradford has done more for the Oklahoma Sooners in the 21st Century save Bob Stoops only then any other man within the organization.

Can We Have Two BCS BUSTERS This Season?

I believe the answer is no. So, if I am right and only one Non-BCS school is invited then how is the BCS going to determine who is more deserving?  We have Boise State who beat Oregon 19 to 8 and the Ducks are currently the number one team in the Pac-10.  We have TCU who have played two BCS schools who are having less then good years, although Clemson did just defeat the number 10 ranked Miami, and the Hornedfrogs just beat the number 16th ranked BYU.  So, by beating a number 16th ranked team does that justify the number 8th ranked TCU jumping over #7 Iowa, #6USC, #5 Cincinnati, and number 4 Boise? Now is it fair for the BCS to drop Boise to a lower ranking the TCU?  The only ranked team that Boise has beat was the Mighty Ducks who as previously mentioned is leading the Pac-10 and currently ranked #11 in the nation and the only ranked team that TCU has beat was the 16th ranked Stormin' Mormons in Provo and two un-ranked BCS schools.  So, how is the BCS algorithms going to determine who is more deserving of the higher ranking and a prestigious bowl bid?  Clearly, if TCU beats the number 18 Utah then there are two ranked win's for TCU as opposed to the one ranked win Boise has over Oregon.  But, if Oregon wins the Pac-10 then shouldn't that carry some weight seeing how BYU and Utah aren't apart of a BCS Conference?  This is CRAZYNESS and all of this can be fixed by a simple play off to determine a true National Champion.  Every game will still count because everyone will be fighting for a play off spot.  Anyways, last year was fun talking about the three way tie in the Big 12 and I hope that both TCU and Boise State continue to give logical reasons as to why they deserve a BCS Bowl.  And, I am sure that the NCAA Football Program will continue to always give us examples of why this current system doesn't work like it was promised "to give us a true National Champion."  (Not that I am saying that any mid-majors can actually be The National Champion, but it's nice to atleast give them the occasional shot.)

Arkansas Shouldn't be Winning!

So, with the number one ranked Florida Gators on the verge of loosing its first game of the season to the unranked Arkansas Razorbacks it was time for the twelfth man to step up and take charge.  No, Texas A&M were not talking about the fan's but the brave men who wear Black and White.  Yes, thank you Mr. Referee for making it possible for Tim Tebow to engineer a comeback victory in Gainesville.  You are probably thinking "Wayne Bass you talk crazy." Wayne Bass only talks the truth.

Exhibit A-With about eleven minutes in the third quarter with the score Hoggs 10 Gators 3 it was 4 and 22 and the Gators decide to go for the field goal.  This would be a personal best for Calab Sturgis at 51 yards out, shattering his old record of 37 yards.  The play clock runs out and about a second latter he kicks a field goal making a 4 point game.

Exhibit B-An extremely controversial defensive pass interference in the fourth quarter.

Now I know that you are probably thinking bad calls are just apart of the game it happens in every game no matter the sport, and a bad call alot of the time depends on what color your wearing.  I can't agree with you more, but when that unsportsman like conduct was called in the fourth which the SEC said in not so many words a being a bogus call.  Anyways, that call put the Gators on the 10 yard line and made it first and ten I really couldn't help but "think give me a break."  That set up the tying score.  Whatever, I feel that Fayetteville got screwed, but it happens.  So, Alabama jumps ahead of Florida in the AP Polls, but who cares what the AP Polls have to say.

Sunday, October 18, 2009

Oh man this has been major league crappy weekend for Wayne Bass!   Number one Texas caught the break of a life time by getting Landry Jones instead of Sam Bradford.  Number two latter that night I went to pick up my date and she informs me that she can't go because her best friend from Provo is up and therefore can't go...She sent me an e-mail earlier.  And, number three I am getting my butt kicked in Fantasy Football by the Birdman him self Big Dan Bird.

So, to make me feel better I thought about things that I could look up, like Oklahoma History and what not, but instead I stumbled onto these little gems.  Enjoy!

A Sooner fan, a Univ of Texas fan and a Nebraska fan were all in Saudi Arabia, sharing a smuggled crate of booze. All of a sudden the Saudi police rushed in and arrested them. The mere possession of alcohol is a severe offense in Saudi Arabia, 20 lashes each of the whip. As they were preparing for their punishment, the Sheik suddenly said, "It's my first wife's birthday today, and she has asked me to allow each of you one wish before your whipping."
The Nebraska fan was first in line, so he thought about this for a while and then said, "Please tie a pillow to my back." This was done, but the pillow only lasted 10 lashes before the whip went through. The Nebraska fan had to be carried away bleeding and weak with pain when the punishment was done.
The Texas fan was next up, and after watching the scene, said "All Right! I wish for zero whippings, and his wish was granted.
The Sooner fan was the last one up, but before he could say anything, the Sheik turned to him and said, "You support the greatest team in the world, your alumni has some of the best and most loyal football fans in the world. For this, you may have two wishes!"
"Thanks, your most Royal highness," the Sooner fan replies. "In recognition of your kindness, my first wish is that you give me not 20, but 100 lashes."
"Not only are you an honorable, handsome and powerful man, you are also very brave," the Sheik says with an admiring look on his face. "If 100 lashes is what you desire, then so be it. And your second wish? What is it to be?" the Sheik asks.
"Tie the Texas fan to my back."

Two boys are playing football at this park in a small town in Oklahoma when one of the boys is suddenly attacked by a crazed Rottweiler. Thinking quickly, the other boy takes a stick and shoves it under the dog's collar, twists it, and breaks the dog's neck, thus saving his friend.
A local sports reporter who was strolling by sees the incident and rushes over to interview the boy. He tells the boy he's going to write the story and says, "I'll title it '
Young Sooner Fan Saves Friend From Vicious Animal'".
"But I'm not a Sooner fan", the little hero replies.
"Sorry, since we're in Oklahoma, I just assumed you were", says the reporter.  Ok I'll title it
'OK State Fan Rescues Friend From Horrific Attack' sound?"
"I'm not an OSU fan either", the boy says.
Reporter asks, you do like football don't you boy?
The boy's reply was "yes sir its just that I'm only visiting my cousin, I'm a Texas Longhorn fan, they're just the best!" The reporter smiles, and the next day the paper read: "Little Longhorn Bastard From Texas Kills Beloved Family Pet".

A first grade teacher in Austin, Tx, explains to her class that she is a Longhorn fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they, too, are Longhorn fans. Everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl...
The teacher looks at the girl with surprise and says, " Janie, why didn't you raise your hand?"
"Because I'm not a Longhorn fan " she replied. The teacher, still shocked, asked "Well, if you are not a Longhorn fan, then who are you a fan of?"
"I am a Sooner fan," Janie replied. The teacher could not believe her ears. "Janie, WHY are you a Sooner fan?"
"Because my Mom is a Sooner fan, my Dad is a Sooner fan, so I am a Sooner fan also."
"Well" said the teacher, in an obviously annoyed tone, "that is no reason for you to be a Sooner fan. You don't have to be just like your parents all the time. What if your Mom was a snotty arrogant loud mouth jerk and your Dad was a snotty arrogant loud mouth jerk, what would you be then?"
"Then" Janie smiled,"We'd all be Longhorn fans I guess."

How do you get an UT graduate off your porch?............................................ ......pay him for the pizza

What is the first thing a UT graduate says when coming into contact with him?..............................Welcom e to McDonalds, can I take your order?

Albert Einstein goes to a party. He introduces himself to a lady and says, "Hi, I'm Albert Einstein. What's you're IQ?".........."240," she says. "Great, we can discuss the mysteries of the universe and other things. We have a lot we can talk about " he replies. Later he is talking with a man and says, "Hi, I'm Albert Einstein. What's you're IQ?"......."145," he replies. "Great, we can talk about thermodynamics," says Albert. Later he is talking to another gentleman and says, "Hi, I'm Albert Einstein. What's you're IQ?........"43," the man manages to say. Einstein gets a puzzled look on his face for a minute then says, "How about them Longhorns?"

If Blount why not Bryant?

Ok I am sure that everyone who saw the Boise Oregon game on September 3rd and saw the Oregon Running Back hit that number 94 player from Boise after the game.  Ok, first of all I really don't think it was a cheap shot... I think that number 94 turned as Blount was winding up, or say I don't think that he was thinking oh he's not looking now I'll hit.  I think he just got pissed that that number 94 wised off.  Then he flips out of what looked like steroid rage and then after he got calmed down young fans began to taunt this clearly unstable young man and the Blount moves to attack the fans.  I feel that number 94 was planning on being able to say what ever he wanted to and then hide behind the sporstmanship shield (I'm not saying that he would run from a fist fight with Blount but he felt protected) and those fans felt that they can do whatever they want to do and hide behind the fact that they are fans just like the idiot who threw a beer at Ron Artest .  Am I trying to defend LeGarrette Blount?  No, I think he was wrong for what he did, and I would have kicked him off the team.  I am sure that you are probably thinking why am I talking about this like 5 or 6 weeks after the matter?  It's because they are probably going to let him back into play.  You know what?  I am ok with that because I am all about forgiveness and moving on, and I am not sure but I think that this is the only real black mark on his record.  He has already set out for a while and really has little to no shot at winning any post season awards.  I don't know if you remember but his name was floating around as a possible Heisman Candidate.  Anyways, the reason I started writing is because Dez Braynt has already set out for two games because he wasn't entirely truthful with the NCAA about his visit to Deion Sanders house.  If LeGarrette is going to be able to play after his post game shenanigans then let Dez Bryant play as well... I don't know I think one is way worse then the other.

Texas Passed Over Again?

So, Alabama has jumped over Texas for the number two spot behind Florida.  Why has this happened Texas has yet to lose a game?  In-fact Texas has scored 236 and Bama has only scored 222 and both teams have only allowed 75 points to be scored on them this year.  So, according to this Mythical BCS Algorithm shouldn't Texas retain their number two spot?

No, and the reason is the same reason why Oklahoma got the Big 12 nod in the three way tie last year.  (It's because of their non-conference games were more impressive.)  Alabama in their season opener beat the now 4th ranked VT by ten points and recently beat 20th ranked Ole Miss.  Texas on the other hand really had a showing against Louisiana-Monroe, Wyoming, and UTEP.  Their two conference wins came from unranked Texas Tech and Colorado.  Keep in mind that Alabama has played lesser opponents as well, but what has caused them to jump over the Longhorns was that VT win.

I am in no way trying to pump up the Crimson Tide because honestly I hope South Carolina upsets them and then next week I hope that Kiffin and his Volunteers put the hurt down as well.  But, I guess what I am trying to say is that the good people in Austin need to start throwing in a good team as well as the warm up teams in their non-conference play.

Don't quote me on this but...

Now, you didn't hear this from me, because I don't like to spread rumors but I've heard that Jordan Shipley and Colt McCoy are not only GAY, but they were seen at the home of Prime Time Neon Deion Sanders along with Dez Bryant of OK State.  I know this is shocking news and just a week before the Red River Shoot Out...(Dang) That is horrible timing for Mack Brown and the Longhorns, but rules are rules... "NO KICKING IT AT THE HOME OF FORMER NFL SUPERSTUDS!"  So, with the upcoming suspension of Heisman hopeful and his girlfriend the Longhorns are going to have to form a different game plan against the Sooners this year.

So, I am having a hard time sleeping, so I thought I would read some people's blogs.  I should comment more but I always feel like what I have to say is well...How do you say in english?  "dumb"  Anyways, I enjoyed reading about Thome's encounter with that Hobo, and I am interested in learning Quinn's thoughts on Bret Farve.  Anyways, as I was reading through the blogs I came to an conclusion about my own blog.  I am starting to lack variety. My blog is titled Waynes Wild World of COLLEGE FOOTBALL not Waynes special take on the SOONERS!  I've been talking about them a lot and I plan on diversifying myself more.  (One thing that bugs me about this small corner of the world is that it feels like a lot not all but a lot of people can only talk about BYU, Utah, and Boise State football and when you mention someone outside of that they look at you cross eyed.)  I DON'T WANT TO BE LIKE THAT!   There is a ton of stuff I could have been talking about like Tebow's concussion, Lane Kiffin pickin' fights with Urban Myers, Ohio State's 3 point loss to USC, USC loss to Washington, and what not, and Noter Dame's...just kidding no one wants to talk about the fighting irish.  In the future let it be known that Wayne Bass is going to talk about COLLEGE FOOTBALL and not just about my beloved Sooners.

Building Year for my Beloved Sooners!

Yes, it is true the Oklahoma Sooners went into Dolphin Stadium and lost in a 20 to 21 decision to the Miami Hurricanes of the ACC.  It has been  a rough start for the Sooners this year beginning with of the loss of the six foot six two hundred and sixty pound tight end Jermaine Gresham.  Jermaine is not only big and strong enough to block defensive ends and linebackers but he has the agility to go out split and make things happen as a wide receiver.  Last year Jermaine Gresham turned down the NFL Draft to come back for his Sr. year.  Many thought that was insane because of his first round predictions, but for reasons which are unbeknownst unto me he choose to stay and finish his Sr. year.  The season was starting with serious promise and with the passing offense centered around Gresham things seemed bright for the Sooners but just days before the season opener with the Stormin' Mormon's of BYU it was announced that Jermaine Gresham will not play for the reminder of his Sr. year.

The returning Heisman Trophy Winner Slinging Sammy Bradford who had over 4,000 passing yards and 50 TD's last year passed on being the number one over all pick in the NFL Draft and $40,000,000 to play for the Detroit Lions is currently overcoming a shoulder injury received before half time of the season opener.

Head Coach Bob Stoops has recently faced criticism stating that Bob Stoops should have pushed these young men to the Draft.  Stoops reply was that it isn't his job to make that decision his job is to educate them on the possibilities and leave it up to the players and their families to determine the best decision.  On the up side these two young men Gresham who is finishing his senior year and Bradford who is a red-shirt junior will be receiving a college degree, and who knows if they were ready for the NFL.

This is a building year for Oklahoma with 50 Freshman on a 120 man roster.  Every team has building seasons and this is the Sooners building year.  I wish the best of luck to the players, coaches, and all the brave men and women serving in the armed forces.

Bla ha ha take that Rich!

So, it superdawg cracked me up that the Spartans of Michigan State beat the 22nd ranked Michigan Wolverines by 6 points.  I have never really had a major beef with the Wolverines in fact I kind of like them, but Rich Rodriguez...I don't know...There is just something about his face...I just don't like him much!  Maybe its because he is Mexican?  (Latin American)  I don't think so, because my mom is half (Latin American.)  I think it has more to do with the fact that I think he's a douce.  I didn't like the way he left his Alma Matter at West Virginia.  Don't get me wrong if I was him I would love to take over a legendary program like Michigan, but man he's just such a tool!  I loved it last year when the Wolverines went 3 and 9 last year.  I could only laugh when he blamed the piss poor season the fact that he wasn't able utilize "the type of players" for his style of play.  His style of play is not hard to figure out, he spreads out the defense and takes a speedster like Pat White or Tate Forcier and then tell them to pass if they are open or just run it you can choose.  (Yeah, a football genius) In the last 5 games he has only racked up 622 passing yards.  I am not here to rag on Tate Forcier or The University of Michigan I just find it interesting that after Rich left WVU Pat White told ESPN how much better it was with Bill Stewart not always yelling them and ruling with a Machiavellian style of coaching.  Don't forget the student athletes at Ann Arbor who transfered because they didn't like Rich.  Anyways, even though he has experienced success on the football field I enjoy it when he also feels failure on the gridiron.  So, in closing naner naner your probably going to drop out of the top 25.

WATCH OUT BIG EAST FOOTBALL!

You may remember Greg Paulus as a three year starting point guard at POWERHOUSE Duke.  The  6"1" baller will not be drafted into the NBA, but instead will go to one of Duke's basketball rivals and play some Quarterback for Syracuse.

When I first heard about this kid's ability to play football I was SUPER IMPRESSED!  I mean to be named Gator-Aid's Player of the Year, to have a 42-3 record as a starting quarterback in high school and to finish his Sr. year at 13-0, and then decide not to accept scholarships to play basically anywhere he wanted to go, but instead he decides to go to one of the most prestigious basketball programs in the nation and kick it with guys like Coach K that is how sport legends are born.

Here are some other names of athletes who played in multiple sports:

1) Of course everyone remembers Bo Jackson!  Bo knows football, Bo knows baseball... and Cooking?  Bo don't know that!  This stud running back for the Raiders also played Left Field  and DH for the Royals, White Sox, and the Angles.  (Quick side note do you remember the Big Hurt #35 Frank Thomas?  Yeah, he was also the starting Full Back at Auburn  blocking for yep you guessed it the running back Bo Jackson.)

2) Prime Time Neon Deion Sanders!  So Deion what's it gonna be offense or defense? Both! football or baseball? Both!  The Niners or the Cowboy's? Both!  Prime Time himself is the first athlete to start a professional football game and be in the starting line-up for a professional baseball game all in the same week.

3)Michael Jordan? Yeah remember that one year when everyone found out about his gambling habits?  Yeah the basketball commissioner kept it quiet because of Jordan's ability  to market the NBA world wide.  Many assume this was a year suspension cleverly covered up by a sudden desire to play baseball.  They even made a movie to show how much his dad loved baseball.  Remember that little blurp at the beginning of Space Jam?

4)Lebron James was heavily recruited to play wide receiver for the Vols, so who knows perhaps some day he will strap on the shoulder pads again.

Ok I am way off the topic now back to Gregory.  What a stud!  We'll see if he can win a starting position for the Big Orange.  Coach Marrone hasn't made any promises of Paulus's chance to start but with Syracuse passing yards per game being ranked dead last in Division I schools and in passing yards per attempt also ranking in last place I don't think they are too picky on who they get to throw the ball.

MY LETTER TO THE SCROLL (What do you think?)

I think football in it's pure unadulterated form is the greatest thing since peanut-butter meeting jelly.  I have played flag football in the BYU-Idaho rec sports program for most of my time here at school.  It's a lot of fun, and I have made a lot of friends playing.  If I had to do college all over again I would defiantly play flag football again, like I said its been a lot of fun.  I just feel that there needs to be two major changes with the program.

The first change is with the referee's.  The referees are so inconsistent from week to week, one will say you can or you can't do this particular thing and the next week another official will say something contradictory, and we as participance are expected  to adjust with out questioning the wisdom of the referee.  Keep in mind how hard that is sometimes with some ref's not all but some have this Napoleon Complex where we have to bow down to and be chill with them and take what they say as the gospel truth.

I have tried to help avoid this confusion by bringing a laminated copy of the rules which we can review on-line.  More then one time even though I had highlighted main points that are apparently vague and not direct the referee has told me that their superior has told them something different.  I have requested that the referee's all meet together on a regular basics so that the rules can be correlated and everyone can be on the same page, but I was informed that they all ready do that.  (So, why in the world is there so much confusion on the field?)

My second complaint is the fact that they have taken athleticism out of an athletic event!  Seriously, when I first started playing the line-men could block with elbows locked out where the arms are strait, or the hands had to be close into the body.  There could be no going back and forth like in a pushing motion and you know what I am cool with that!  Over time they have changed it to where you can't use your hands to block just your body, now they tell us that we can make zero contact with the opponent wither on offense or defense.  So, imagine having to block using a magical force field around you to keep the  guy on defense from getting to your quarterback.  Oh and I almost forgot when a defender does hit you and you fall the referee will tell you not to insult his intelligence by “flopping.”  WHAT! It doesn't matter if I flopped or not the fact of the matter is that he broke my magical force field and made contact with me when this is not a contact sport!

Something else that irritates me to no end is how they misinterpret the no hurdling rule.  As outlined in the on-line rule book for player, (perhaps there is another rule book for the ref's), but the one that we read states that jumping over a player who has both feet planted on the ground is illegal, so therefore according to some officials this includes any type of jump, skip, or hop out of the way of a would be flag getter.  We can't stiff arm or swat their hand out of the way and now we can't do the smallest hop to the left while in the pocket to avoid losing our flag.  As previously stated they are taking athleticism out of this athletic event which I love.

Brigham Young is reported to have said that the greatest fear he had was that members of the Church would take what he said as the mind and will of God without first praying and obtaining a witness of the same for themselves.  We did the same things a missionaries we never wanted people to just say oh ok if that is the way then I will just go with the crowed.  No, we challenged them to question everything taught to them research, ponder, and prey.  Now I understand that our Heavenly Father has more pressing issues then Flag Football, but the point that I am trying to make is that it is Ok no wait it's expected to challenge the norm, to ask questions, to want to make changes when we feel that something is wrong!

Brother's and Sisters there needs to be some changes made and the time is now!  I invite everyone everywhere within the sound of my pen to pick up a writing utensil of your own write into the REC Sports Program to let your voice be heard about problems you see within the program.  This is the only way to  make any changes.  Let it be known that the Officials are separate from REC Sports, but if we let the REC know then they will make things happen!

Arm Chair Quarterbacks are BACK!

What has two thumbs and can't wait for college football to start?  This guy!  (You can't see but both my thumbs were pointing at me.)  Anyways, I can't wait seriously I am super excited!  Some notable games to look for in the first week of September is...Oklahoma vs. BYU, Oregon vs Boise State,  Missouri vs Illinois, and Georgia vs Oklahoma State!

I'll start off with my favorite game BYU vs Oklahoma this game will be played at a neutral site in Texas and will be televised on ESPN.  I know that my friends with in the Rocky Mountain Range know that I am pulling for a Sooner win and my gentile friends in the Sooner State probably assume that I am going to be cheering for the for the Stormin' Mormons but at the risk of sounding apostate I think that Max Hall will fold like a beach chair in a rain storm just like he did any time the Cougars played any team that was worth a dime!  Honestly, look at his stats against the U and against TCU and compare that to lets say Wyoming or UNLV.  He can't handle the pressure!  But, who knows he is a year older now and I guess we'll see...NO WAIT I am sticking with what I originally said LONG LIVE THE SOONERS!!!

BIG GAME IN THE BIG CONFERENCES Missouri vs Illinois are to play at 2:30 on the 5th in St. Louis.  The Tigers are not the same team as they were last year, but we'll see how Mizzuo can do with out their "OVERRATED" Quarterback Chase Daniels, and go to wide out Jeremy Maclin.  Keep in mind that the fighting Illini still have Juice Williams at QB and the explosive receiving corps and returning a stud running back committee.  Shoot I think they might even beat Ohio State this year.  (Just kidding for the exception of Michigan and Joe Paterno I don't think that anyone can beat the Buckeyes with in the BIG TEN)

Oregon and Boise State actually this game is to be played on Thursday the 3rd which is good because then they don't have to compete with anyone for attention that day.  Last year those of the Smurf Turf beat the mighty Ducks 37 to 32 in Eugene Or.  But to honest Oregon was having Quarterback issues at the beginning of the season so this could prove to be a very exciting game to watch.

At the same time as the Missouri Illinois game on ESPN will be the Cowboys of Oklahoma State and the Bigdawgs of Georgia on ABC.  I know that this sports fan will be flipping between the games this Saturday afternoon.  Does anyone recognize the name Kendall Hunter?  I'll give you a hint he was the leading rusher in the BIG 12 and he is fast, really fast.  Dez Bryant is a stud and did you know that Zac Robinson can throw for over 3,000 yards and run a 4.5 forty.  Georgia on the other hand will be missing what is that Quarterbacks name I think Matt Stafford...yeah he will be gone and do you remember Knowshon Moren yeah he's gone too.

In closing it is going to be a rad week of play and I encourage everyone ever where to load up on chips and root beer claim your spot on the couch and enjoy the opening week of COLLEGE FOOTBALL!

Slingin' Sammy Bardford is BACK!

So, I have been wondering for a while if Sam was going to the Draft, and I was pretty sure he was I mean he had over 50 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions and a Heisman Trophy! I mean what more could a QB want? Apparently, he wants to gain more experience, perhaps a degree, and oh yeah A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! Keep in mind sports fans that Sam is not alone the six foot six 260 pound Tight End Jermain Gresham who is not only a monster but has the athletic ability to split out wide to catch passes there as well has also turned down the chance to join the NFL Draft. At wide outs we have pretty much the same corps of recievers for the exception of number 9 Juaquin Iglesias, but it ain't no thing we have the red-shirt freshman number 85 Ryan Broyles to fill the void. Broyles was the 4th ranked athlete in the nation right out of high shcool, and I think he will do just fine as he matures. At running back oh baby are we stacked at running back. Let's see we got Demarco Maurry, Chris Brown, and Mossis Madu. Not too shabby boys!

BOOMER SOONER!

So, the Oklahoma Sooners are headin' to Florida tomorrow for the third time this year to play on a neutral field which conveniently enough is the home state of the opponent. Dag Gum I'll tell you what I would give anything for a big win for the Sooners. To go on a 4 year BCS Bowl losing streak SUCKS MAN! But, I don't know something tells me that they are going to win big tomorrow. I am not sure if it's inspiration or desperation but I think they are going to win! I've bet all 34 points that the Sooners are gonna do it! 64 to 28 is what I think the final score is going to be. Even with injuries which seem to plague OU I don't think will hender them too much, so maybe I should change my pick to 57-34. Meh what's done is done. Did I mention that I am number one in College Pickem'

The above photo was an actual billboard in Texas and yes it is true OU has had it's fair share of problems with the NCAA. But, that was due to decades of NCAA infractions finally coming down on us. But honestly what else would you expect bored oil men to do with their money. I think Texas is just jealous

Saturday, January 3, 2009

So, with this year's bowl season winding down I am sad to say the the Big-12 is not undefeated Oklahoma State and Texas Tech has lost!  I am not going to lie ESPN is really bothering me by talking about how the Big-12 has been overrated this year.  WHAT!  Overrated?  Because our 3rd and 4th teams lost please, both those games big name players received injuries.  Names like Dez Bryant and Michael Crabtree!  For crying out loud people the best defense is to have a great offense out on the field.  If you can control the clock then you limit the amount of snaps the other quarterback takes.  The less snaps he takes then that limits your opponents chance to score.  And, taking away heavy hitters like Bryant and Crabman allows defenses to focus more on other aspects of the game because your deep threat has been taken away.  I mean honestly what do you think would have happen if Michael Jordan randomly got hurt during the NBA finals.  Is it possible that The Jazz could have won a championship?  Now, I don't want to play the What If game but I don't want the Big-12 to be dumped on because two teams have lost games.

The Pac-10 is 5 and 0 this Bowl Season and the "experts" are saying that perhaps we have been too hard on them this year.  I am not going to lie going undefeated is great and getting half the conference in a bowl is also impressive but lets take a look at who they beat.  We'll start off with the University of Arizona.  They beat BYU but on paper shouldn't a BCS school beat the third ranked Mountain West school.  Cal, they had a struggling go around this year and they beat Miami from the weak sauce ACC.  This is seriously not the Atlantic Coast year, their conference champ was like 5-3 this year and so many other schools deserved to be in a major bowl instead of them.  Oregon...We already talked about them.  Oregon St. vs Pitt the score was 3 to 0 wanna talk about a boring game.  USC winning the Rose Bowl just goes to show how weak the Big-10 really is.  Now, I am sure that there are those who are reading this and saying Whoa Wayne Bass how come when the Big-10 losses a big game it shows how weak there conference is but when the Big-12 loses two bowl games the Big-12 is still ok.  I explained earlier about how losing key players affects the game and besides they didn't get man handled like Penn State did.

Congratulations to the University of Utah for winning their second BCS Bowl.  I really didn't think it would have happened but I wanted it to so on college pick em' I picked em' and they got me like four points
